Louise White, 81, of Newport, Rhode Island, is said to be the winner of the third largest Powerball jackpot recorded in history - a shocking amount of $336.4 million!

 

Louise White bought her ticket from a Stop & Shop supermarket in Newport for only $3. It was the only winning entry that matched all the numbers 1, 10, 37, 52, 57 together with the Powerball number of 11.

 

The 81 year old winner came forward Tuesday morning to claim and accept her money on behalf of the Rainbow Sherbert Trust. 

 

In a conference in Cranston, she expressed her feelings of happiness and how truly blessed she is for winning the jackpot prize. She also thanked those in charge of the Powerball draws for giving people like her the chance to win such a large amount.

 

Louise White chose to accept the lump sum payment of $210 million, rather than than in small sums over the coming years.

Rhode Island lottery officials confirmed that White's winning draw is the sixth largest amongst all lotteries in the United States.
