Jackpot of $30 Million in Powerball Superdraw Tonight
Thursday April 29, 2010
Australian lottery fans are preparing for the $30 million Powerball Superdraw tonight with lottery punters out in force to take advantage of the Superdraw occasion. For those not familiar with the Lottery industry, a "Superdraw" is only held several times annually (usually around public holidays) and offers far higher monetary prizes than the regular weekly Lottery. In fact, first division prizes will typically be available at the $30 million range.
When it comes to superdraw lotteries industry professionals report a significant increase in the number of infrequent lotto players along with the regular punters, meaning that tonight's Powerball Superdraw is expected to attract far higher interest. Powerball is drawn weekly at 8:30pm (AEST) on Thursday nights. Entries close Thursday 6:30pm (AEST) for tonight's $30 million Powerball Superdraw jackpot.
Powerball game details:
Game balls are numbered 1 to 45 and six are drawn at random to find the winning Powerball Superdraw numbers. In Powerball Superdraw the first five numbers are classed as the winning numbers with the sixth being the Powerball which determines who wins the $30 million jackpot.
NOTE: the sixth ball is drawn from a separate collection so it can potentially be a number already drawn in the first five.
There are 7 prize divisions in Powerball. To win a prize, the minimum you need to do is pick 3 winning numbers from the six numbers revealed. The divisions are classed as follow:
Division 1: All 5 main winning numbers and the Powerball
Division 2: All 5 main winning numbers
Division 3: Any 4 main winning numbers and the Powerball
Division 4: Any 3 main winning numbers and the Powerball
Division 5: Any 4 main winning numbers
Division 6: Any 2 main winning numbers and the Powerball
Division 7: Any 3 main winning numbers
After each draw OzLotteries.com will send confirmation emails to those with winning entries.
